Hamilton-Jacobi Equations and Mean Field Games: From Modeling to Numerics via Analysis

The conference focuses on the theory, analysis, and numerical treatment of Hamilton-Jacobi (HJ) equations and Mean Field Games (MFG), exploring the interplay between modeling, rigorous analysis, and computational methods. The event aims to bring together experts from analysis, control theory, applied mathematics, and computational sciences to discuss recent advances in the field. More precisely we propose to investigate, through conferences, lectures and discussions, recent advances in:

Analytical approaches: including turnpike properties, homogenization and singular perturbations problems for MFG systems and control problems in infinite dimension, a-priori estimates and regularity properties for solutions to elliptic and parabolic systems possibly degenerate;

Modelling aspects: including Extended MFG for optimal production of exhaustible resources, urban planning problems, micro-macro derivation of fluidynamic models for pedestrian and vehicular traffic, multi-agents systems and flocking;

Numerical methods: including Finite Differences, Semi-Lagrangian, Policy Iterations, Newton Iterations, Machine Learning based Methods for efficiently approximating and solving the large scale HJ equations and MFG systems.

The conference will permit to emphasize the connections between rigorous analysis, modelling and numerical analysis, highlighting how deep theoretical insights can inform the design of efficient and accurate numerical methods.
